Selected Graduation Works from the Department of Photography,
Faculty of Arts, Tokyo Polytechnic University
Recommend Exhibition 2025

Tokyo Polytechnic University traces its origins to the Konishi Professional School of Photography, founded in 1923, and celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2023.

The Department of Photography, which represents the very foundation of our university, has built upon its long history to develop a rigorous educational system. Over four years, our students engage in an intensive exploration of what "photography" means to them.

The title of this exhibition, "Recommend," conveys the idea of "recommendation." This exhibition showcases the works of 14 artists selected by the faculty of the Department of Photography from among their graduation projects—the culmination of their studies at the university. We hope you will gain insight into the "new perspectives" these emerging artists bring to their observations of society.

Their university journey began amid the challenges posed by COVID-19. Despite the rapidly shifting social landscape, they remained committed to their craft, overcoming various struggles and obstacles to complete this body of work.

We hope you enjoy the exhibition. It would be deeply appreciated if you could share words of encouragement with the artists and offer them guidance as they move forward.
