This really is just one big world. The farther one gets away from it, the better one can see that.
Since there are two sides to every story, we don't need to choose between good and evil.
This solo exhibition comes four and a half years after I released my last photobook -- “Ano Kado wo Magaru Koro” . As I allude to in the title, it is comprised of works where I have been conscious of my distance from the subject. Taken in different places at different times of the day, these scenes have a poetism that has nothing to do with distance or hidden meanings, and exude with textually perceivable moistness and silence.
Alongside the exhibition, I have produced a new photobook of the same title and plan to show slides of past works at the gallery. The overall presentation should give you a good view of where I am today and how I have broadened my photographic range since my early works of simple materialistic things.
