I am so proud to be finally having an exhibition of my photography in Tokyo. I
have visited Japan many times for many world class events so this is a great
achievement for me!
I have spent my life travelling the world covering many different sports it has
taken me to 16 Olympic Games, World Cup finals and too many World Championships
and major events to remember.
Photography was my hobby at college and became my vocation and career. I am
proud to be the official photographer to the Wimbledon Championships for
many years and to have worked on the planning and photography of the London
and the Rio Olympics.
I try to find the different pictures that sum up the event and the occasion, I love
pictures with a twist, picture’s from big events must have “sense of place” a
great picture should tell a story.
My career started in the UK working for Allsport Photographic in the early years
of the Agency. In 1994 after the Lillehammer Olympics I started to work with the
biggest Sports Magazine in world “Sports Illustrated” and went on to become
the only Staff Photographer based outside the USA. Today I live in the UK
specialising in Sports Photography.
I have won over 60 awards for my photography to include a World Press Photo
Award, Sports Photographer of the Year three times in the UK, Sports Picture of
the Year in the USA and Sports Photographer of the Year in the USA.
This exhibition is a kind of culmination of my life’s work. I hope it is enjoyable for
you. I would like to give special thanks to all of the many others who helped me with
the exhibition.
