SNA Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15, SNA proudly observed National Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States and Latin American Heritage Month throughout October in Canada.
The events organized by SNA's Hispanic employee network, CHiSPA, included a kick-off event, the Salsa Showdown, a panel discussion featuring Hispanic/Latino leaders from Sony, and a conversation with former NFL player Luis Zendejas.

In October, SNA's teams across the United States and Canada united in solidarity by wearing pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This initiative was spearheaded by SNA's women's employee network, WAVE, which organized various activities throughout the month to raise awareness. Among these activities was participation in the Susan G. Komen More than Pink Walk.

SNA members in Canada had the pleasure of welcoming 20 ninth-grade students to the Toronto office as part of National Take Our Kids to Work Day.
During this event, participants explored a variety of career paths across business, creative, analytical, and technical fields at Sony Pictures Entertainment, PlayStation, Sony Music Entertainment, and Sony Electronics.

Throughout the November and on Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in Canada, SNA honored the courage and dedication of those who have served in the military.
SNA's veterans' employee network VETS hosted a military activity day where team members participated in a cardio challenge, tested their knowledge with military trivia, and sampled different MREs (Meals Ready-to-Eat) to gain insights into the military experience. VETS also hosted a Veterans Holiday Card Station in San Diego, to spread some holiday cheer. Employees decorated and signed greeting cards which were delivered to service members' bedsides at local medical facilities.

Now in its fourth year, the 2024-2025 Sony Create Action Grant Program is designed to support underserved, underrepresented communities in creative fields like photography, videography or filmmaking by amplifying the efforts of local, non-profit organizations whose work involves such fields.
The first five recipients for this year's program were announced in December.

The SCSE team organized a second workshop to support the Hungarian Down Foundation. The theme for this workshop was nature and landscape, so on 28th October, the team travelled an hour outside of Budapest to the countryside location of Dobogókő, where the Foundation have a holiday house. As part of the first workshop, Sony donated five Alpha 6100 cameras and one ZV-E10 vlog camera. Some of the same participants returned for the second workshop to practice their new skills in beautiful woodland surroundings.

In response to the flash flooding in Southern and Eastern Spain, which took place last October, Sony Europe donated
€10k to Cruz Roja Española (Spanish Red Cross) to support the frontline relief efforts.

Coder Kids, a yearly event arranged by Ideon Science Park in Lund that Sony has proudly joined since its inception, took place on 31st October. The event is designed to help inspire young kids in the world of coding. Once again, Sony was one of the sponsoring companies and the team from Lund were responsible for a classroom of 16 children aged 8-12. The Sony coaches guided children using different exercises in Scratch (an online coding community for children) to create games and other projects. At the end of the day the proud students showcased their great work to the class.

Throughout November and December,
Sony Europe colleagues from Weybridge and Basingstoke gave up their time to lend a hand in the charity's pop-up shop on Henrietta Street and shake collection buckets in London's Covent Garden, as part of Save the Children's annual Christmas Jumper Day campaign.

On 14th November, the team at the Zurich office had the pleasure of hosting six curious young minds for a `Future Career Day'. This is a special occasion where children get to join their parents or mentors at work and explore the professional world up close. The day was packed with exciting activities and interactive tasks.

In October 2024, Sony Foundation Australia (Sony Foundation) launched its first `Adelaide4Ward' fundraising lunch in South Australia. The funds raised will contribute to Sony Foundation's commitment to build the first `You Can' youth cancer centre in South Australia; the sixth You Can Centre funded by Sony Foundation across Australia. Sony Foundation's You Can Centres provide much-needed support and services for youth cancer patients, ensuring they receive the best care and a sense of community during their treatment.

In November, Sony Foundation proudly celebrated 25 incredible years of its Children's Holiday Camp program. Since 1999, 11,230+ children with disability and 19,700+ student carers have shared unforgettable moments of friendship, inclusion, and joy at Sony Foundation's Children's Holiday Camps.

In October, acknowledging the importance of regular beach clean-ups and stronger waste management to protect marine ecosystems, 118 volunteers from SOMAS, The Sequoia International School, DoubleTree by Hilton and Cenergi SEA came together at Tanjung Harapan beach to collect 91.2kg of litter.

In December, a donation drive for pre-loved items was conducted in SEV office. Items collected were sold to raise funds and plant new trees in Xuan Lien Forest. For unsold items, they were gifted to the communities in the forest area.

In November, 47 employees participated in the 2024 Action Really Together (ACT) campaign and collected 184kg of e-waste and 2,797 donated goods. Notably, the donated goods will help persons with disabilities working at the Goodwill store to learn and train skills.

In December, in collaboration with Bird Conservation Society of Thailand, over 50 participants including Sony Thai Co. Ltd.(SOTHAI) MD Asai-san, employees and their family members as well as customers gathered at Vachirabenjatas Park to create 10 owl nest boxes, which were installed on trees by experts under the certified arborist's supervision and advice. This activity is a pilot project spearheaded by SOTHAI to provide safe and secure sites replicating the cavities that owls require for nesting and it's an essential element in the conservation of owls in the park.

In November, together with Hands on Manila, 21 employees from SPH traveled to Cipriano Sta. Teresa Elementary School in Taguig City and helped established a 50sqm urban garden that will directly supplement school meals to help combat malnutrition among Metro Manila's students.

In November, employees from SISC visited Association for the Mentally Challenged, a facility dedicated to the well-being and development of mentally challenged children. The visit aimed to engage with the children, understand their needs, and provide support in ways that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

In October, spreading festive joy during Diwali, SID employees visited Muskaan Foundation and an Old Age Home to engage with children and elderly through meals, gifts and games. In addition, employees also visited Hole-in-the-Wall project site and interacted with the children through storytelling, teaching sessions as well as distributed festive goods. On the other hand, to empower social enterprises, SID office hosted a few NGOs, where they set up booths to market their handicrafts as well as create awareness for the artisans' impactful work.

In November, collaborated with Ministry of Education and Science Centre Singapore, the Sony Creative Science Award ceremony was officiated by Gan Siow Huang, Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Manpower. SES MD Fujita-san gave a keynote speech on top of prize presentation as well as officiated the exhibition together with other guests of honor. Further, SES also hosted the MESH workshop for award recipients, which saw nine volunteers across various departments.

3 Science Journeys (in 4 cities) took place in 3Q FY24-Lanzhou in Gansu Province (Oct. 16-17) ,Tongliao in Inner Mongolia (Nov.15-17) and Jinjiang &Quanzhou in Fujian Province (Dec. 5-7). Altogether 6,722 people participated in SES activities, including "4K3D sci-fi movie special event" , SES science show, SES science class & toio™ workshop.

In November, the 10th Tree Planting Event, organized by the NPO Earth Worker Energy, was held at Angel Forest in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, and participants planted seedlings together with members of the local Yamabiko Association.
This tree planting event, which began as an effort to return artificial forests to broadleaf forests, has been held every November and marks its 10th year this year. On the day, a total of about 80 people took part and planted 110 saplings provided by Sony Forest, as well as a total of around 700 trees, including konara oak, Quercus serrata (both of which are beech trees that produce acorns), and wild cherry trees.

From October to November, Cleanup activities were conducted around the Koda and Inazawa sites. Additionally, at the Inazawa site, the flower bed in front of the entrance was replanted, an annual event that saw participation from many members of the Environmental Subcommittee and other volunteers.

The KISARAZU ORGANIC CITY FESTIVAL 2024 was held in Kisarazu City, Chiba Prefecture, where 300 compost piles produced at the Kisarazu site were distributed free of charge to visitors. On the day of the event, farmers who grow vegetables using compost from the Kisarazu site also participated, selling fresh vegetables. This initiative provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the Kisarazu site's circular recycling activities.

The "NURO Online Program" which was held on December 17th is a collaboration with Sony Music. The program, titled "Meets! × Connecting Online Live; No Correct Answer Dance + New Sound" combines "New Sound Creation," in which participants create music using sounds they have found themselves, with SME's "No Correct Answer Dance," in which participants can move their bodies freely and enjoy their own dance.
With the participation of the local governments of Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture and Tagajo City, Miyagi Prefecture, we connected children from both cities through "communications x music."

On October 26th, the 37th forest management activity was carried out at "So-net Forest" in Saku City, Nagano Prefecture. Participation from SNC included several executives, as well as employees and their families. Additionally, executives and employees from Sony (SEC) and Sony Financial Group (SFGI) also participated in the event, with approximately 60 participants thinning and removing the oak trees.

In December, the final judging session of the "JSEC (Japan Science & Engineering Challenge) 2024" organized by Asahi Shimbun and others, was held at the Miraikan (National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation) in Odaiba, Tokyo. Sony Corporation supports the objectives of JSEC and has participated in the judging alongside employee volunteers since FY2021, awarding the "Sony Award" to outstanding projects. This year marks the fourth year of Sony's involvement, and the research on drones conducted by a student from Waseda University Senior High School was selected.
